The Cholera woma" is a woman who lives in the Ethnictown neighborhood of Springfield. She is in poor health, as is evident from her coughing and pale complexion.

History[edit]

When the Simpsons visited Ethnictown, Marge said, "You can hear the beautiful ethnic serenade!" referring to merchants calling out in a sing-song voice to advertise their wares. They first heard the Apple vendor, who called out, "Apples! I got apples!" Immediately after that, the Cholera Woman appeared in a doorway and said, "Cholera! I got cholera!" She then nearly doubled over in a fit of coughing and hacking.
