The "Cholera Woman" (real name not known) is a woman who lives in the Ethnictown neighborhood of Springfield. She is in poor health, as is evident from her coughing and pale complexion.

History

When the Simpsons visited Ethnictown, Marge said, "You can hear the beautiful ethnic serenade!" referring to merchants calling out in a sing-song voice to advertise their wares. They first heard the Apple vendor, who called out, "Apples! I got apples!" Immediately after that, the Cholera Woman appeared in a doorway and said, "Cholera! I got cholera!" She then nearly doubled over in a fit of coughing and hacking.
