Davy Crockett was an American frontiersman who died at the Alamo. His popularity had a resurgence in the 1950s including the catchy theme song The Ballad of Davy Crokett and coonskin caps.

Bart called himself Davy Crockett and then asked who he was.[1]

When Homer and Bart walked away Patty and Selma said there goes Davy Crockett in his bald-skin cap, referring to Homer.[2]
