Siegfried Blaze is the burn-master general at the Springfield Firehouse.

History

When Homer was reported for possessing lowbrow contraband (a copy of Funniest Home Videos), the fire department burst into his house to arrest him. Siegfried Blaze accompanied them and told Homer he had disappointed him, explaining that they set fires for the good of humanity. He then explained that they had learned long ago that entertainment must fully occupy the consciousness of the population and that challenging shows were the perfect distraction from how dystopian their society had become. He then ordered Homer to be taken away for reeducation. However, Homer escaped.

After making his way to the Android's Dungeon, Homer entered the secret room and was excited to find many copies of various lowbrow media to watch. However, Siegfried Blaze and the fire department burst in through the roof, as Homer had led them to the hideout. They set fire to everything while Homer and the other fugitives escaped.

Behind the Laughter

Siegfried Blaze is a parody of Captain Beatty from Fahrenheit 451.
