Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. was the patriarch of the Kennedys, an American political family. His roles as bank president and also investments in the movie business made him a millionaire.
History
He and Roger Meyers, Sr. produced Steamboat Itchy cartoon in 1928.[1]
The cover of The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys by Doris Kearns Goodwin was on the classroom wall when Goodwin herself taught the art/history class at Lisa's new school after the Simpsons moved from Springfield to Boston.[2]
Behind the Laughter
The character design for Mayor Quimby's father was based on Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. continuing Mayor Quimby being a parody of Ted Kennedy.[3]
