When Mrs. Krabappel told Homer that Bart could grow up to become Chief Justice of the United States, Homer thought of American former chief John Marshall, Charles Evans Hughes and Warren E. Burger.[1]
Grampa told once at in 1835 was Howland Simpson having a double caramel macchiato in a cafe near Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The Liberty Bell rang to honor the death of Chief Justice John Marshall. Because of the temperature of the coffee drink, it coupled with the sonic frequency of the peal of the bell as it cracked, the mug fractured in a way nearly identical tho that of the famous symbol of liberty.[2]
