History[edit]

Homer was held in a cell at the Tower of London after he crashed into the Queen's carriage. Lisa found a way out from the cell and helped Homer to escape through a secret tunnel that was used by Sir Walter Raleigh, but she found out too late that the secret tunnel ended in the queen's bedroom and Homer was captured again.[1]

Fiction[edit]

Walter Raleigh appeared in a story told by Marge Simpson.

When Raleigh returned from the New World he had a gift for Queen Elizabeth I, tobacco. Queen Elizabeth I enjoyed the tobacco and decided to entertain Raleigh as being a suitor to her. During his stay in Richmond Palace, he met Queen Elizabeth's Lady in Waiting and fell in love with her. When Elizabeth I discovered this she wasn't happy and demanded that they be punished. At that moment, Spain started to attack England, so Raleigh was sent to a war ship to help fight them off. However, he accidentally set fire to the ship before he abandoned it. The other English ships also caught fire and the fleet went into the Spanish fleet, destroying them. In return for destroying the Spanish Armada, Queen Elizabeth knighted him and gave Lady Marjorie and Walter Raleigh her blessing, allowing them to get married.[2]
