The Illustrated Man is a circus freak at R. Bradbury's Traveling Night Circus.

History

When the Simpson family visited R. Bradbury's Traveling Night Circus, Lisa saw the tent for the Illustrated Man and went in just as he was being fired by the ringmaster. Feeling bad for him, Lisa asked how much it would cost to see him. The Illustrated Man told Lisa that he was retired, so Lisa gave up immediately and started to walk out. However, the Illustrated Man stopped her and had Lisa look at his tattoos. It took a few seconds, but Lisa started to see a story.

After the first story, Lisa pointed at another of his tattoos and asked for the story behind that one. The Illustrated Man told Lisa that it represented the brief period when he was into the band Sublime. He then showed Lisa the tattoo of several gears, which led to another story. After this story, Lisa tried to leave, but the Illustrated Man asked her to stay for one more story.

After the final story, Lisa found herself in a featureless void. The Illustrated Man told Lisa that since she had listened to three of his stories, she was granted an eternal reward: to become one of his tattoos. He then told Lisa that she would make friends. Lisa tried to talk to the sun tattoo, which began singing "Santeria" by Sublime.
