Samuel Morse was an American inventor.

History

When Mr. Burns and Homer were snowed in, Burns tried to call for help by sending a signal in Morse code. However, the signal only went to a telegraph key that was next to a mannequin dressed up as Samuel Morse in the museum.

At the classroom on the Movementarian Compound, Mrs. Krabappel asks Bart who invented Morse code and he answers The Leader. Mrs. Krabappel affirms he is correct in spite of Lisa protestations that he is wrong.[1]

Behind the Laughter

Morse is best known for being a co-inventor and namesake of the Morse code telegraph signaling system.
