History[edit]
When Homer and Mel Gibson were talking in Gibson's office, a picture of Mel Gibson as William Wallace in the movie Braveheart was on the wall.[1]
When Willie was talking about Scottish independence, he commented that he could be a person to stand in the tradition of William Wallace and Andy Murray.[2]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Despite being the title character in Braveheart (1995) the moniker "the Brave Heart" originally belonged to Robert the Bruce and not William Wallace.
