When Drederick Tatum won over a Swede, he did a triumphant turkey trot. The sports commentator said that thoughts turned to Alexander of Macedon's victory at Granicus and Issus.[1]
After a carrier pigeon gave a message that saved his life, General George S. Patton said that he would pick the American pigeon over Alexander the Great's Griffin any day.[2]
