Betsy Ross is widely credited to have sewn the first flag of the United States of America.

History[edit]

When George Washington was fighting with pirate Hans Sprungfeld, she came in with the flag. Washington didn't pay for the flag, as she only got the white stars he wanted and couldn't find any red hearts, yellow moons or green clovers.[1]

When Luann Van Houten was photographed for the calendar, she was dressed as Betsy Ross.[2]
