Joseph Turner also known as J. M. W. Turner was a British landscape painter.
History[edit]
When Homer and Marge were at the Springsonian Museum they saw a painting by Turner. Marge told Homer that in an era when everyone else painted portraits, he broke away by painting the Venetian canals. That gave Homer the idea of The Grand Canals of Springfield.
