Napoleon III was Napoleon Bonaparte's nephew who ruled as Emperor of the French from 1852 until he was deposed in 1870 following his capture during the Franco-Prussian War.

To get Emperor Napoleon to see their art, the students created a giant fake cheese wheel and rolled through the art gallery, causing Napoleon to chase after them, eating the wheel. The students then showed the Emperor their art and Napoleon awarded Bart the medal.
