Character Information
|
Stephen Sondheim is an American composer and lyricist.
History
Krusty the Clown hired Stephen Sondheim to write songs for the Spuckler children. Sondheim wrote a song with complex harmonies, intricate lyrics and pithy observations on modern life, which Krusty hated. Krusty then told Sondheim to do what he did in Cats, which Sondheim said he didn't write, to Krusty's dismay. Krusty then told Sondheim to play a peppy vamp on the piano. Whilst playing the vamp, Sondheim decided to write a jingle for Buzz Cola.[1]
In the song "Sasha is a Massive Success", Sasha Reed called Stephen Sondheim "the most gracious host".[2]
