History[edit]

Lisa with a Lisa Lionheart doll

Lisa Lionheart was designed to provide a more positive role model for young girls, placing it into direct competition with the Malibu Stacy line of dolls. When the Lisa doll was first released, all the young girls—as well as Malibu Stacy collector Waylon Smithers, Jr., who yelled: "I want it, I want it, I want it!"—were after it. However, before they could reach the Lisa Lionheart display, they were literally intercepted in the store by a cart of talking Malibu Stacy dolls with new hats, leading to the complete failure of Lisa Lionheart.[1]
