History[edit]

When the Simpson family were in New Orleans, he spotted Homer and Lisa and recognized Lisa. Later, in The Spotted Cat, he invited Lisa up onto stage with him and his band to play her saxophone. When Lisa questioned who he was and how he knew her, he told her that he was Bleeding Gums Murphy's nephew. He then convinced Lisa to start playing her saxophone again and told her that his uncle told him that Lisa was the most promising young musician he had ever met.
