History

When Selma Bouvier showed signs of going through menopause, Julius Hibbert had her watch a video about the topic, featuring Robert Wagner.

Wagner opened the video by lifting a hen off of an empty nest and saying, "What do you know? She's out of eggs. And if you're watching this, so are you." He went on to outline some of the life changes associated with menopause, saying that while it marked the end of having children, it also marked a "wonderful new plateau in a woman's life". Wagner concluded the video by saying, "So let's all give menopause a round of men-applause." He balked at the "menapplause" pun and said he wasn't saying that, but it had already been recorded on video.[1]

In an episode of I Lost Lucy which Homer watched on Tube Town, Lucy's former boss visited her grave and said he needed her at the bank because Robert Wagner was coming to open an account.[2]
