Marge said that her and Homer's happiness was about to unravel just like Kevin Costner's career, because of The Postman.[2]

During their radio program Bart asks Nelson how school was. Nelson replies that it was a lot like a Kevin Costner movie: "long, serious, and full of old people who say boring things."[3]
