History
When Homer tested glasses at Eye Caramba, he wore a pair that was popular with celebrities, including Val Kilmer, according to the optometrist. When Homer heard that, he said Kilmer was his "favorite Door." A picture of Kilmer wearing the glasses was on the wall.
Behind the Laughter
Homer referring to Kilmer as his "favorite Door" is a reference to The Doors, a biographical film about the American rock band the Doors, in which Kilmer played Jim Morrison.
