The Springfield Police Station is the base of the Springfield Police Department. It contains several prison cells, a front desk, a small museum of crime, the Chief's office and a car park for the Police Cruisers. Homer once crashed his car into the front of the building.[1]

History

The station has been visited by Springfield Elementary on a school trip. While here, Bart Simpson got all the megaphones in a line and spoke through it, causing a massive noise to go through Springfield.

Chief Wiggum used to give massages in an office in the station.[2]

When closed-circuit cameras were installed across Springfield, monitors were installed in the police station and volunteers brought in to monitor the footage took by the cameras. Ned Flanders and Marge Simpson were some of the volunteers, with Ned being considered the most naggy by Springfield's citizens; the volunteers were able to speak through microphones and tell the people in the footage to stop their actions. Ned annoyed most of Springfield's citizens, even to the point where Homer and Bart Simpson created a blind spot in the backyard, visited by most of the citizens. Eventually, Ned came round and helped Homer destroy the cameras after a confrontation in the blind spot; the cameras' footage was used in a British television show, American Oafs.[3]

Several pictures of wanted criminals (e.g. Fat Tony and Ms. Botz) hang on the bulletin board.
