Smilin' Joe Fission is the official mascot of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and the Springfield Isotopes.

History

He starred in a filmstrip about nuclear power, which was shown to Bart's fourth grade class when they visited the plant on a school trip.

A Smilin' Joe Fission Eternal Night Light was on sale at Cockamamie's.

His pet peeve is to be mistaken with Ross Perot. He has been featured in other animated atomic films, such as Atom and Eve: A Return to Eden, Why Flesh Won't Fall Off Your Face, and Please Don't Eat the Daisies Near the Recovery Tank.
