Gretchen Grille is the society and gossip reporter at WZEN News.

History[edit]

Claude Kane III bumped into her on his way to see Gloria Grand. Gretchen asked him to take his hat off in the presence of a lady, but Claude said he couldn't as he is susceptible to head colds. Gretchen then walked away, thinking that Claude's head is empty so it must be very drafty.^[1]

When Gloria mentioned to Claude that she couldn't go on a lunch date with him because she was dieting, Gretchen made a snide remark about it being good that Gloria was losing weight before anyone mentioned it to her. Later, Gloria and Gretchen went to a diner together to talk about the story Gloria had uncovered in Hornsby. When Gloria ordered some ice cream, Gretchen said that she thought that Gloria was dieting. Gloria told Gretchen to live a little and help her finish the ice cream and Gretchen agrees that they may as well enjoy themselves now.^[2]

When Claude Kane III got rejected by Gloria Grand once again, Gretchen Grille came up to him and had a meal with him. Claude and Gretchen started seeing each other after Radioactive Man split from Claude Kane III. They went out of town and went for a meal. Whilst Gretchen was in the bathroom, Radioactive Man grabbed Claude and asked him why he wasn't trying to merge back with him. Gretchen then came out looking for Claude but Radioactive Man and Claude merged back together again. Radioactive Man then told Gretchen that Claude had to go call his bank. After this incident, Gretchen got annoyed at Claude and stopped seeing him.^[3]

Gretchen Grille served as a news reader when an energy field opened up other Zenith City. She announced that the president's budget was passed.^[4]
