Superhero Information
|
Iron Foot was Lenny Leonard's superhero alter ego in the comic book Nuclear Power Man and Iron Foot, Heroes for Rent or Lease to Own.
History
Origin
Lenny had a long-standing habit of watching late-night kung fu movies on television, with his feet propped up on an ottoman. Over time, Lenny's right foot, which was closer to the TV, picked up a mega-dose of radiation, and Lenny gained the ability to change his foot into a heavy iron-like substance. The heavy foot hampered Lenny's ability to walk, but he was able to deliver devastating kicks with it. Later he teamed up with Nuclear Power Man.
The Disco Inferno Incident
Iron Foot was bringing sweet potatoes to Nuclear Power Man's walkup apartment for their Christmas dinner. He had just reached the apartment when Nuclear Power Man said they needed to leave to investigate several large fires in the city. While Iron Foot struggled to make headway with his heavy foot, Nuclear Power Man reached the scene and met the police. He then learned that a supervillain called Disco Inferno was starting the fires with a flamethrower, and that the Village People had unsuccessfully attempted to negotiate with him.
While Iron Foot trudged on, Nuclear Power Man confronted Disco Inferno and began to fight with him. They were interrupted by Linus van Pelt, who told them that they had both forgotten the meaning of Christmas. After Linus gave a speech explaining what Christmas was all about, Nuclear Power Man and Disco Inferno agreed to stop fighting.
Just then, Iron Foot arrived on the scene. Not realizing that the fight was over, he aimed a powerful kick at Disco Inferno. However, he missed and hit Linus instead, sending him flying through the air. Iron Foot immediately realized he had done wrong and was stricken with remorse, while Nuclear Power Man was awed at how far Linus was going. Disco Inferno, for his part, said to Iron Foot, "You've got a kick like a guy with a foot made out of a substance like unto iron!"
Later, Iron Foot, Nuclear Power Man, the Village People, Disco Inferno and a heavily bandaged Linus all gathered at Nuclear Power Man's apartment for Christmas dinner. As Nuclear Power Man served the turkey, Iron Foot asked when the green flecks on it were. Nuclear Power Man said they were chives: "It's my special chive turkey for you jive turkeys!" They then all raised their glasses in a toast as the story ended.
Behind the Laughter
Iron Foot is a parody of Danny Rand, the Marvel Comics character better known as Iron Fist and half of the title duo from the comic book Power Man and Iron Fist.
