The Springfield Fire Department is the fire station in Springfield.

History[edit]

When Homer wakes up while driving, causing him to crash into the Fire Department, injuring all the firemen and landing them in the hospital. While they recuperate, Homer, Apu, Moe, and Principal Skinner become volunteer firefighters.

In a parade they fought against the Police tank. This caused the tank to empty out and being unable to estinguish the fire on the Quick & Fresh. Cletus, Carl, Krusty and Sideshow Mel had meanwhile joined the volunteers.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Lance Wilder, the show's background design supervisor since the second season, modeled the fire station on one in his hometown of Chelmsford, Massachusetts which was later demolished in 2015.[1]
