History
When superheroes were outlawed in Springfield, Gil was sad as he had just made his Gill-Man costume. He was planning to fight crime underwater once his inner ear infection had cleared up and he had learned how to swim.

Gill-Man is a parody of Aquaman from DC Comics and The Gill-man from Creature from the Black Lagoon.
