Don Mattingly was one of the players in the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team.

History

Waylon Smithers, Jr. goes to visit him at his house to ask him to come work at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant so that he could join the softball team. Don Mattingly acts nice towards Smithers and invites him into his house. All through his training, Mr. Burns told him to get rid of his sideburns. On the day of the big game against Shelbyville, Mattingly has shaved off the sides of his head bald but Mr. Burns got angry at the fact he hadn't shaved off his sideburns, obviously mistaking what they actually were, and sent Mattingly home.
