He was chosen over Lisa to take part in a reading.[4]

In the future, Hubert ended up running a large tech company and entered a relationship with Lisa. However, their relationship became strained and they split up. Hubert then showed up at Buzz Light Roast to ask Lisa to take him back. Lisa accepted and they got back together. A few months later, Lisa was asked to be a bridesmaid at Sophie's wedding to Jimbo. Hubert attended too, but he spent time on his phone with a divorce wizard.[1]

Behind the Laughter

His first name is a reference to Hubert J. Farnsworth and his surname and appearance is a reference to Amy Wong (both characters are from Futurama, another Matt Groening's cartoon).
