Character Information

Glamorous Godfrey[1] or Glorious Godfrey[2] is Abraham Simpson's wrestling alter ego.
History
Glamorous Godfrey was a heel wrestler in the 1950s, cheating and putting on a show to make the audience hate him. He fought matches against the wrestlers Baby Face Palooka and Olaf Johannsen. Eventually, the act got too much for Grampa, who ended up hating being hated as it spilled over into his real life too. He then stopped wrestling and put everything in a storage locker where he forgot about it.
Years later, a storage locker sale happened, which Homer won. This turned out to be Grampa's old storage locker. At first, the family thought Grampa was secretly gay, but after being confronted about it, Mr. Burns recognized Grampa as Glamorous Godfrey. Burns then asked Grampa to take up wrestling again, which Grampa agreed to.
Bart became a fan of Glamorous Godfrey and his heel nature and started to act like him. He took on the persona of Beautiful Bart, which drew the attention of Mr. Burns. Burns asked Grampa and Bart to team up and wrestle together. Before their first match against Captain Flag and Half-Mast, Grampa realized what the heel nature was doing to Bart and decided to give up on Glamorous Godfrey, becoming Honest Abe instead.[1]
