Kamp Krusty
|
Location Information
|
Kamp Krusty is a summer camp for kids.
History
Kamp Krusty was a very bad, low- budgeted camp. Every kid thought that it was going to be fun, but it was a nightmare for them. Krusty never showed up, they were forced to eat gruel, and the overweight kids were locked in an institution for weight loss, tricked by the TV Commercial. Krusty himself was not the actual creator of the camp, and it was implied that he was bribed to put his name on it, something he later regrets.
Eventually, the kids took over the camp and renamed it Camp Bart.[1]

The Simpsons: Hit and Run
Note: In this section the video game controller buttons refer to the PS2. The "Triangle button" is the equivalent to the "Y" button on the Xbox.
In the video game The Simpsons: Hit & Run, on the Squidport levels there, Kamp Krusty can be found. It is located near the Springfield Dam, and an under-construction bridge. The School Bus can be brought from Otto.
When the character goes near a Kamp Krusty "Flag-Gag", you should press the "Triangle" button to activate the gag. When activated, the flag changes and says Camp Bart, much like in the episode. Another gag is a well, and when you jump into a Well and press the "triangle" button, you end up near the observatory. There is also pig's head on a spear (which was also seen momentarily in the episode) which becomes covered with flies when you activate it. This is a reference to Lord of the Flies.[2]

Trivia
- In the television episode, Kamp Krusty is a vast place with a number of buildings and nature areas. However, in the game it is extremely small, with no nature areas whatsoever, and very few buildings.
- Kamp Krusty also looks different in the comics: The television episode shows Kamp Krusty as being rustic and run-down and in the middle of nowhere, whereas in the comics the buildings are modern and well-kept and the camp is located right next to a town.[3]
- When the kids are on their way to Kamp Krusty, the bridge leading to the camp collapses just after the bus drives across it. Later, when Krusty takes the kids to Tijuana, they're driving the bus, but how they left isn't specified.[1]
- Martin Prince, Jr. is seen in the overweight institute, along with his friends.[1]
