The Springfield Episcopal Church is an Episcopal church in Springfield. It is located across the street from the First Church of Springfield.[1]

History[edit]

Reverend Lovejoy has a long-standing dislike for and rivalry with the Springfield Episcopal Church. He once had a fund-raiser with the goal of "building a taller steeple than the one on that snooty Episcopal church across the street".[1] On another occasion, Lovejoy lamented, "Our membership has been dwindling since those Episcopalians put in those vibrating pews."[2]
