John Swartzwelder wrote the book How to Get Rich Writing Cartoons. He also is one of the many writers that worked for Roger Meyers, Jr. writing The Itchy & Scratchy Show. Meyers fired every one of his writers, including Swartzwelder, after hiring Abraham Simpson. Swartzwelder also attended the Annual Cartoon Awards that took place at the Springfield Civic Center.[1]
Swartzwelder was Lionel Hutz's surprise witness while Bart was trying to get the framed Itchy drawing.[2] He also attended Krusty's funeral with Kermit the Frog.[3]
He was an attendee of the Maison Derriere[4] and was later committed into Calmwood Mental Hospital, with people campaigning for his release.[5]
There is a statue of him on a horse outside the Courthouse[6] and a picture of him is on the wall of a restaurant in Springfield.[7]
He was also on Krusty's blimp before it crashed.[8]
John Swartzwelder has a plaque on the Springfield Wall of Fame.[9]
