When Moe said that the Duff Book of World Records was the best book he'd ever seen, Homer read the book then corrected Moe, saying that the best book Moe had ever seen was Tom Clancy's Op-Center.[3]

At Sideshow Bob's parole hearing, he told judge Roy Snyder that the prison book club consisted of prisoners who club him with books. He then showed off bruises on his body which he claimed were from the new Tom Clancy book.[4]

When Esme Delacroix told Marge that she needed endorsements from famous writers, Tom Clancy was phoned up at his house. He was asked to say the line "If you're hunting for a good read this October, Marge Simpson's book is a clear and present danger to your free time", which he repeated, then said that he wouldn't say the line. He was then told that he had just said it before the person calling him hung up.[2]

At Santa's Village, Bart asked Santa Claus what he was reading, to which Santa replied with Tom Clancy's Op-Center.[5]
