The Robotic Richard Simmons was a robot version of fitness instructor Richard Simmons.

History

When Mr. Burns told Smithers to release the Robotic Richard Simmons, it came out and a speaker emerged from its head playing K.C. and the Sunshine Band's's "Shake Your Body". It scared Homer off but then went out of control and attacked Mr. Burns, Smithers and Bart. Smithers shot it but it's head regenerated and it kept going until it overloaded and exploded.

Behind the Laughter

The scene was deleted from "Burns' Heir" as it didn't get enough of a good reaction from the table reading. Richard Simmons was eager to play a part in the show but declined after he found out he would be voicing a robot.[1] The scene was later shown in "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular".
