Birchibald T. "Birch" Barlow is a right-wing conservative talk radio show host on Springfield's KBBL station. He also has hosts own show on Fox News.

History

Birch Barlow released a book called Only Turkeys Have Left Wings. His on air rantings are intentionally engineered to be controversial and to rile up the audience, in order to convince them to call. On his radio show, he declared himself to be "the fourth branch of government" and "the fifty-first state".

He took part in the world's tallest human pyramid record attempt.

Simpsons Mania

Birch spent his youth on Seth and Munchie's Juice-Making Commune. However, he renounced his hippie roots when he learned that although the women on the commune believed in free love, they didn’t believe it pertained to him. After a strong philosophical right turn, Birch found himself a leader in the Republican community. Now a best-selling author and radio host, he used his influence to rail against liberal politicians and organizations daily. Mayor "Diamond Joe" Quimby's success with the ladies was particularly irksome to Barlow, who considered it his duty to convince the voters of Springfield that a man with a sex drive was unfit to hold public office.

Behind the Laughter

Birch Barlow is a parody of American talk show host and political commentator Rush Limbaugh. His first name is a reference to the John Birch Society.

He has also been a customer at Marge's prescription drug-laden "yard sale", a reference to Limbaugh's Oxycontin addiction scandal.
