Character Information
|
Marvin the Martian is an alien.
Role in Looney Tunes
In the Looney Tunes he is often seen to be in a rivalry with Bugs Bunny. He was created by Looney Tunes director, Chuck Jones, who created other famous Looney Tunes stars such as Pepe le Pew and Elmer Fudd. The character was in 5 Looney Tunes shorts in the golden age of animation later returning in 1981 along with Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. His popularity came in the 80's even starring in the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
History
When Homer saw an alien, FBI agents Mulder and Scully came to Springfield to investigate the sighting. They asked Homer to identify the alien he had seen from a lineup which included Marvin, Gort, Chewbacca, ALF and a Rigellian (either Kang or Kodos). Marvin was apparently annoyed about being in the lineup, as he said, "This makes me very angry."
Homer did not see his alien in the lineup. The alien he saw was eventually revealed to have been Mr. Burns, who had wandered disoriented into the woods after receiving his weekly series of rejuvenation treatments.
