Diggs told Bart that he had transferred a few months ago and that he liked the lack of attention that he got at the school. Diggs then showed Bart the [[Springfield Elementary Falconry Club]], which he had resurrected. Bart asked to join the club too and Diggs and Freedom accepted him.
  
Diggs teaches Bart all about falconry and Bart eventually starts to bond with both Diggs and Freedom. Eventually, Diggs decides to see if he can fly as well and leaps from a tree, falling to the ground and getting badly hurt. In hospital, he is then seen by a psychiatrist and then gets transferred to a mental hospital.

Diggs also helped Bart to bond with Freedom, getting Bart to feed him and have Freedom land on his arm. As Diggs and Bart were hanging out in a tree, Diggs told Bart to watch him do something cool. Diggs then started to wave his arms about and jumped out of the tree. Diggs fell to the ground and hurt himself, breaking his arm.
