Kim Hwan is a Korean gymnast.

History[edit]

In the 1984 Olympics he competed in the rings event and made a perfect dismount on what was later revealed to be a broken leg.

Behind the Laughter[edit]

Kim's performance is a reference to Shun Fujimoto who kept going despite severely injuring his right knee. One account said that after he ended, he "raised his arms in a perfect finish before collapsing in agony".
