Ray Fosse | ||||||||
Character Information
|
Ray Fosse is a former Major League catcher.
History[edit]
Homer was reading a book about baseball to Lisa and one of the pages featured "Then, Pete Rose plowed into his friend Ray Fosse, dislocating Fosse's shoulder in a meaningless game. He had earned the nickname 'Charlie Hustle' by not letting personal feelings get between him and home plate."
Behind the Laughter[edit]
Ray Fosse actually did get knocked over by Pete Rose in the 1970 All-Star Game. He was really injured and after returning from the injury, the once-promising catcher wasn't as effective as he once was.
