Tom Kite is an American professional golf player. At the Springfield Glen Country Club, he gave golfing advice to Homer and to Krusty the Clown.

History

Kite met Homer when Homer was playing golf at the country club and was struggling to even hit his ball. Homer decided to try to cheat by changing his scorecard, but another player came along and said that Homer wasn't even getting the cheating right—cheating in golf meant decreasing the score rather than adding to it. The player then introduced himself as Tom Kite, and started helping Homer with his golf game.

After Kite gave Homer a few tips (not overthinking, keeping his head down, pretending no one else was there), Homer hit the ball very close to the hole. Kite was impressed and told Homer he was a natural at golfing, but he also told Homer to get his own set of clubs and "Stay the hell out of my locker!" Kite then grabbed his clubs from Homer and angrily walked away, telling him he could keep the shoes.

Later, Homer and Mr. Burns played a round of golf together. Unbeknownst to either of them, Smithers was cheating on Burns' behalf by putting balls on the green near the holes. When Homer became frustrated from wondering how Burns could hit a golf ball so far, he hit his club on the ground several times. The club flew out of Homer's hands and toward another hole, where Tom Kite was working with Krusty the Clown. The club hit Krusty in the head and knocked him out cold, and Kite quietly snuck away.
