The disapproving squirrel is a one-time character of The Itchy & Scratchy Show. Her design was based around Marge Simpson.
History[edit]
Due to Marge leading a protest against The Itchy & Scratchy Show, Roger Meyers, Jr. instructed the show's crew to come up with a way to stop her. They created the disapproving squirrel, which they based on Marge.
In the Itchy & Scratchy episode "Field of Screams", Itchy and Scratchy attacked each other with baseball bats at a stadium. The disapproving squirrel ran between them, telling them to stop. Itchy and Scratchy ceased their quarrel, only for Itchy to decapitate the squirrel, sending her head flying for a home run. Afterward, Itchy shook hands with Scratchy as the two grinned happily.
While Marge was annoyed by the cartoon, Homer missed the reference and enjoyed it.
