The disapproving squirrel is a one-time character of The Itchy & Scratchy Show. Her design was based around Marge Simpson.
History[edit]
Due to Marge leading a protest against The Itchy & Scratchy Show, Roger Meyers, Jr. told the crew behind the show to think of a way to stop her. They then created the disapproving squirrel which they based on Marge.
In the Itchy & Scratchy episode "Field of Screams", Itchy and Scratchy were attacking each other with baseball bats at a stadium. The disapproving squirrel then ran in between them, telling them to stop. Itchy and Scratchy then stopped their quarrel, only for Itchy to decapitate the squirrel sending her head flying for a homerun. Afterwards Itchy shook hands with Scratchy as the two grinned happily.
While Marge was annoyed by the cartoon, Homer missed the reference and actually enjoyed the cartoon.
