Dr. Thurston is a child and animal psychiatrist.

History

After Raymond Bird was eaten by Santa's Little Helper, Bart was taken to see Dr. Thurston to find out why he was sad. After Santa's Little Helper chewed up bird-related things in her office, she concluded that he must be given away.

After Bart got decapitated, his head was surgically attached to Lisa's body. The two of them kept fighting, which led to them being sent to see Dr. Thurston. Dr. Thurston told them to say something good about each other. After they complimented each other, Dr. Thurston said that was all the therapy that their parents could afford. Homer tried to pay with coupons, but one was for lettuce and the other was expired.
