Julian is a poet, novelist, essayist, and playwright from Capital City.

History[edit]

When Lisa was in Capital City with Patty and Selma, they met up with Julian, Katya, and Lars. Julian mentioned that he had met Patty and Selma the previous year at the Capital City pride parade, where they had made a float together. Katya invited Lisa, Patty, and Selma to a party that the three of them were having in their loft in Nohosogoblojoto. However, Patty and Selma said that they wouldn't go, as they were planning to see Cranberry: The Ocean Spray Juice-ical instead. That evening, however, Patty and Selma got sick and fell asleep, so Lisa sneaked out and joined them for the party.

The four of them made their way to the loft for the party, and Lisa ended up helping them move art pieces for an exhibit at the Museum of Loft-Based Transgressive Progressivism. After setting up the exhibit, Julian invited Lisa to see the play Roach with them. After interrupting the play, Lisa met Tracy Letts, who told her that he was on the board of trustees of the Horace Frick Academy after Julian had recommended that she join the school. However, since Lisa didn't have the money to attend, Julian, Katya, and Lars took her to see Lacey Van Aster, who gave Lisa a bursary check so she could enroll.

Lisa was then taken back to their loft, where she was finally going to get some sleep but noticed a photograph of her new friends on the wall, with Martin in the picture. Lisa was shocked at this, and Julian, Tracy Letts, and the singer of The Inhuman Capotes told her that every year, self-impressed bookworms like her and Martin went to Capital City, and they convinced them that they could one day be one of them just by attending Horace Frick Academy. They would then take the child to see Lacey Van Aster and cash the check she gave out themselves. Julian then revealed that he had footage of Lisa walking away with one of the museum exhibit statues, which she had taken to help set up the exhibit, and he was using it to tell people that she had stolen an art piece. Upon hearing all this, Lisa ran away from them with the check.

Lisa then fled from the artists, who gathered a mob to chase her down. As she hid in an alley, she realized that she was too tired to keep going but then drank the Apple Zoom juice box that Marge had given her. She insulted Julian and the other artists and ran away, hiding in a deflated balloon of Joan Didion. Lisa accidentally hit the inflate button for the balloon and became stuck on top of it as the artists confronted her. After Julian insulted Katya, Katya cut the rope and let Lisa go free, allowing her to float back to Springfield.
