The event was attended by many of Springfield's restaurants to advertise their food at different booths. Homer Simpson, who was a restaurant critic at the time, visited the many booths, finally stopping at "The French Connection" booth, where a chef, along with many of the restaurant owners, had planned to kill Homer by making him a 1,000,000-calorie éclair with poison in it. Lisa reviewed the festival for the Springfield Elementary School newspaper.
