The surgeon fiancé is the unnamed fiancé of Mary Tannenbaum.
History
When Mary was offered a promotion at work, but only if she helped fix up the movie A Christmas Ornament for Christmas, she went home to her fiancé to tell him about it and pack. Her fiancé was confused how anyone could hate Christmas movies and then made her a coffee, still not knowing how Mary liked her coffee after two years of being engaged to each other.
In Springfield, the fiancé phoned Mary from the hospital to check on how she was doing. Mary, who was starting to fall in love with Principal Skinner, told him negative things about the town and its people to make him think that she hated it there. Later, the fiancé went to Springfield where he saw that Skinner and Mary were about to kiss. The fiancé got annoyed, thinking that Skinner was the reason that she didn't answer his calls, and walked away.
After filming had finished, the fiancé asked Mary to choose between him and Skinner. Mary chose Skinner, but Skinner rejected her because she hadn't thought the decision through at all. Mary then went back to her fiancé who was annoyed that it was the second time that had happened.
