Chester Alan Arthur was the 21st President of the United States, serving from 1881-1885.
History
A picture of him was seen in a book that Superintendent Chalmers showed Bart, before Bart developed an interest in Theodore Roosevelt.[1] A student at the Springfield Elementary played him in a school play about presidents in the United States at the Presidents Day. In the school play started John Wilkes Booth, played by Bart to chase him after he killed Abraham Lincoln.[2]
