Theodore Roosevelt is a former President of the USA.

History

Roosevelt appeared in an old Itchy & Scratchy cartoon, "Manhattan Madness". In the cartoon, Itchy walked around Manhattan, encountering various people and killing them in gory ways. Among them was Roosevelt, whom Itchy decapitated with an axe.[1]

When Superintendent Chalmers took personal responsibility for Bart's education, he told Bart about Theodore Roosevelt to get Bart interested in learning. Bart and Chalmers later formed a Roosevelt-focused study group, and when Chalmers was fired due to a field trip mishap, Roosevelt's example inspired the group to take over the school and successfully demand that Chalmers be given his job back.[2]

Behind the Laughter

  • Roosevelt's voice in "Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts" was provided via archival sound footage.
