Rutherford Birchard Hayes was the 19th President of the United States, serving from 1877-1881.

History

A picture of him was seen in a book that Superintendent Chalmers showed Bart, before Bart developed an interest in Theodore Roosevelt.[1] A student at the Springfield Elementary played him in a school play about presidents in the United States at the Presidents Day.[2]
