History
Homer met Dan, when his frisbee landed in Dan's backyard and he threw Bart after it and Dan enjoyed meeting him too.
At the beginning of the episode, he joins the Pin Pals against the Holy Rollers, replacing Otto Mann who is suffering from a psychotic breakdown. When Dan was about to throw his ball, he receives a call from Fat Tony and has to forfeit the match, giving the Holy Rollers the victory.
At Luigi's, Dan comes in time for Fat Tony's announce that he'll be serving jury duty and due this, they have to appoint a temporary don and Fat Tony chooses Dan, much to the ire of the mobsters. After this Dan tells Fat Tony his concerns, telling him he won't blend-in, this causes Fat Tony to get angry and just slam his fist in the table, claiming that he knows what he's doing. After he's gone, Dan tries to blend-in with the mobsters, by doing an ice-breaking exercise, they will say something they're afraid of, which for Dan is the other mobsters. Johnny says he's afraid he'll kill Dan right now, so Dan fakes a call, claiming that he's talking with his daughter (named Cassidy) and hypothetically he "asks" her, how does she would feel if he just "disappears"? After "she" tells that she'll be sad and "start crying", Dan points this to the mobsters. Louie calls out Johnny for threatening Dan, but Johnny only answers if Cassidy is a girl's name now?
Later that night, Dan shows the mobsters how much money they're spending. But the mobsters instead disrespect and bully Dan at every chance. When Dan tries to propose to them that when they put a head horse in other's bed, they shouldn't let the rest of the animal go to waste and use more body parts, in answer the mobsters only throw him body parts of horses, including a saddle and a dead jockey, which causes Dan flinches and ask if that was real.
